I’m Sandra Mallon, a passionate educator, behavior analyst, and lifelong advocate for neurodiversity and disability justice. With over 25 years of experience across public, charter, and residential schools, I’ve served in roles ranging from Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), general and special education teacher, and school-site principal to special education director and Emerging Verbal Learners Program Coordinator.

My academic background includes a Master’s in Education Leadership and Administration, a Master’s in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, and a dual B.S. in Education and Psychology with a focus on Special Education. I hold current California teaching credentials in general education (multiple subjects) as well as special education for both mild/moderate and moderate/severe needs. I am also a BCBA and Social Wonders is a BACB.com recognized ACE provider for CE trainings.

My passion for this work began early - advocating alongside my best friend with cognitive disabilities as a child - and has remained the driving force behind everything I do. I believe deeply that neurodivergent minds are not deficits to be corrected but powerful and valid ways of experiencing the world. I work every day to challenge ableism, dismantle outdated systems, and create inclusive environments where all individuals can thrive.

Over the years, I’ve led successful supervision for teachers, school psychologists, social workers, and administrators pursuing BCBA certification. I’m trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a focus on children and youth, and have advanced expertise in Relational Frame Theory, ADA compliance, and Section 504 planning.

In 2024, I sustained a traumatic brain injury, which deepened my personal understanding of the barriers disabled individuals face. Since then, I’ve focused on leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, to design meaningful accommodations and improve accessibility. My ongoing research explores how AI can enhance support systems, amplify unheard voices, and expand data-informed decision-making in education and disability services.
Disability justice isn’t just part of my work - it’s the foundation. Whether I’m advocating for families, training professionals, or co-creating accessible solutions, my mission remains the same: to honor innovative brilliance and fight for a world where everyone gets a spot.
